Part of being involved in these sports, running, cycling and swimming is being an advocate for them. While running and swimming do not require the level of advocacy as cycling needs right now, there are certainly aspects that do.
With that in mind, we have spent much of the last year watching some of the local advocacy groups, and feel that it might be time to establish one in our own back yard to address some of the issues that simply aren’t being addressed today. At the moment, much of what we are thinking is still in the planning stages and will be addressed as the spring approaches. In the meantime, we have to give a big shout out to some of the area advocacy groups.
Bike Alpharetta is an excellent example. The work they have done with the City of Alpharetta, and the ongoing improvements we are seeing from the City of Alpharetta cannot be underestimated. This is an area on a fast track to becoming one of the best places to ride a bike in the region, and possibly the state.
